The next time you are in Disneyland and need to take a rest, I highly recommend this special little sitting spot. There is a path that late leads from Matterhorn way to Tomorrowland. It will be the first path not the one that leads to the long time of people waiting to meet the pixies. From Tomorrowland, it is a path between the strange rocks and a great shortcut to Fantasyland via the Snow White wishing well.
This area has seen multiple lives. When the park opened in 1955 it was known as Alpine Gardens. Then in 1957 the famous Monsanto's House of the Future found a home and continued to please crowds for 10 years. When they tried to dismantle it, the wrecking ball just bounced off the sides of the structure. They had to saw it into pieces.
In 1996, the area transformed into King Triton Gardens. Little shooting fountains and quiet pathway made for a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of nearby Main Street. You could also get an autograph from Ariel.
Today the area has been transformed into Pixie Hollow. You slowly shrink down to the size of a Pixie and can get her autograph. But that isn't what I am talking about. There is that path just beyond Pixie Hollow. Look for a tree nestled under a tree. You will see a high curb of rocks. You will notice this flat spot. Grab a seat and you will see what I mean.
This is a portion of the the nighttime show that runs every 15 minutes and lasts about 3 minutes. It combines a variety of elements such as music, the fountain, special shots of water from a variety of places, and lights in the trees that succeeds in creating a magical little jewel of a show.
