Bow Wow Wow - Louis Quatorze

On this date in 1982, Bow Wow Wow released their ninth single, "Louis Quatorze". It was backed by "The Mile High Club". The A side first appeared on their debut release, a cassette-only EP called Your Cassette Pet. Both songs appeared on the four song EP, The Last Of The Mohicans, as well as their third album, I Want Candy. The A side, however, was a version that was exclusive to the single. The single reached the #66 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London new wave band formed when Leigh Gorman, Matthew Ashman and Dave Barbarossa were steered away from Adam and The Ants. Add Annabella Lwin and you have Bow Wow Wow. They were managed by ex-Sex Pistols' manager Malcolm McLaren. They disbanded in 1983.
