Geelong Quilt-in

What a wonderful day we have had with over 240 quilters…..and how patient Larry is sitting there all day too! We have spent three wedding anniversaries with Geelong quilters - our 30th anniversary nine years ago and then our 35th and today was our 39th…….what a coincidence! It was lovely to be asked (yet again!) and also wonderful that I could share my Beatrix Potter journey with little snippets of William Morris as well. The planned venue was flooded less than 2 weeks ago but the new venue of the Geelong West Town Hall was perfect……..

We found some walls to display some of the Beatrix Potter quilts and soon this blue and white one will be winging its way to the UK to Helen of Whitecroft Tours……...

Cheryl spoiled us with fine china, beautiful linen and an amazing chicken salad for lunch……..

There was lots of inspiring show and tell with a few Morris style quilts as well. This one was entirely hand appliquéd and hand quilted by a 91 year old….how wonderful……..
